Welcome back to campus!  The University of Colorado Denver Net Impact leadership team has been busy planning networking, social, and keynote speaking events for the Fall semester.  We hope you can join us this month and make connections with other students, faculty and business leaders who are committed to promoting corporate social responsibly.  If you’re new to the organization and want to see what we’re all about, join us one of the events below!  Also, check out some of the important club news at the bottom of this email.

Upcoming Events:

Design for the Other 90% Exhibition and Happy Hour – Sunday, Sept. 11th @ 2pm

University of Colorado Denver Net Impact Happy Hour – Friday, Sept. 16th @ 5pm

Please come meet us for a happy hour and informational event on the Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers outdoor patio at 16th Street and Larimer near campus.  The leadership team is excited to get to know you, your specific interests and what you’re looking to get out of the club.  We’ll discuss our upcoming keynote, upcoming volunteer opportunities and in general just have a jolly good time!

Club News:

Treasurer – UCD Net Impact is seeking a treasurer to fill out the remainder of our leadership team.  Please email justin.wells@ucdenver.edu for more information on this leadership opportunity.

OrgSync – We are migrating our member management and distribution to OrgSync.  OrgSync has many benefits, including becoming more familiar with campus organizations, organizing your involvement portfolio, and maintaining your contacts while in school and after graduation.  OrgSync will soon be mandatory for all members to maintain contact.  If you know how to sign up for OrgSync, please do so and joint us.  Otherwise, keep an eye out for an email from our marketing chair, Shana Sessler, with detailed instructions.

Chapter Dues – We recently realized that many of our members are not current on their yearly dues.  Annual membership to the University of Colorado Net Impact chapter is only $15.00 and provides you an opportunity to network with business leaders and students from all over Colorado through speaking events and social opportunities.  We’re working hard to make sure the club is a benefit to you and would love your feedback!  If you are not current with your dues, please fill out the club application (available on this website) and mail it to the provided address, or schedule to meet me at the Club Hub sometime to collect.

Welcome 2011-2012 University of Colorado-Denver Net Impact Members!

My name is Justin Wells and I’m excited to be coming on board as President of the CU-Denver Net Impact Chapter.  We have ambitious plans to grow the club on campus and give future business leaders the skills to champion positive change in the areas of corporate social responsibly, international development and environmental sustainability.  There are several events being planned for the Fall semester which will give our members an opportunity to volunteer as well as network with academic and business leaders focused on social and environmental sustainability.

Cradle to Cradle: Innovations in Our Local Food Supply Chain

Join us on Friday November 19th 2010 from 5:30-8:00 PM at the Bard Center for Entrepreneurship!

There will be a panel discussion with Grant Family Farms (a community supported agriculture farm), Chipotle, Sweet Action Ice Cream (a local ice cream shop), and Denver Waste Farmers (local composting and waste reduction company). The panel will be moderated by Ira Selkowitz.

Welcome Back!

Greetings Everyone!

Another school year is upon us! We, at Net Impact, wanted to take this opportunity to welcome all new and current students. We also wanted to inform you all of the changing of the guard that has taken place within the UCD Net Impact organization. In May 2010, all of Net Impact’s officers and co-founders graduated. So, over the past month, there has been an unceremonious passing of the torch to a new group of officers. But before we push ahead with the new school year’s exciting opportunities, events, and guest lecturers, we wanted to send a sincere heartfelt gratitude to the former officer corps, who founded the UCD Net Impact Chapter and carried the torch diligently thus far.

Our new team of officers is excited to have the opportunity to take the reigns of Net Impact through the 2010/11 school year. We are excited to meet and reconnect with current members, and to hopefully add new faces and backgrounds to our chapter. In the month of September, we plan on holding an informal Meet-n-Greet Happy Hour somewhere near campus for officers and members to get acquainted and talk about strategies to move the organization forward throughout the upcoming year. We want to hear from group members on what’s most important to you regarding UCD Net Impact, and the types of events and opportunities you would like to see most. We also want to increase our current membership and expand our reach over the course of the year.

Needless to say, there is a lot to do, and very large shoes to fill. But we are determined to move forward and promote change through the power of business.

Denver Area Net Impact Ice Cream Social

It’s that time of year again! Come celebrate the arrival of summer with the Univeristy of Colorado Denver, University of Denver, and Denver Professional Net Impact Chapters at Sweet Action Ice Cream on Friday, May 14 from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. The 2nd annual Net Impact Ice Cream Social will feature a flavor inspired by Net Impact with a portion of proceeds benefitting the Net Impact Chapters. This is also the official last day of classes for the Auraria Campus so come and celebrate with us and kick off the summer at Westword’s Best Newfangled Ice Cream Parlor.

UCD Net Impact Presents “HOME” by Yann Arthus-Bertrand

UCD Net Impact is proud to present the beautiful film “Home” by Yann Arthus-Bertrand on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 6:00 PM at the Starz Filmcenter on the Auraria Campus. Food and drinks will be served and door prizes will be given away to lucky guests. This film event is truly one you will not want to miss. Admission is Free. Please arrive early as seating is limited.
